Agatha Phiri- Communications Lead

Agatha is a qualified journalist who is passionate about women’s mental wellbeing and ending the stigma of people living with HIV. She wants to encourage people to normalise the HIV conversations in their homes and communities. She facilitates Agatha’s Space and comments that ‘seeing women striving, doing well emotionally and financially makes me happy’.

David - Furniture HUB Volunteer

David helps out the team in the HUB by moving furniture and supporting on the shop floor.

David says he enjoys coming to the shop as he doesn’t feel like a volunteer but rather a friend to everybody in a nice relaxed friendly environment and he enjoys learning about different cultures.

Jovia Manzi- Furniture Shop Floor Manager

Jovia has volunteered at SAWN for over 15 years in a variety of roles.

She shared that she  enjoys being in an organisation that actively empowers women and values diversity. She finds her role incredibly fulfilling meeting people’s basic needs and telling them about all our other services.

Daniel Chinonso - Furniture HUB Volunteer

Daniel supports on the shop floor and the van taking and receiving furniture from the
community.

Daniel loves being at SAWN and giving back to the community.

Thomas Chadwick – Furniture HUB Volunteer

Tommo contributes to SAWN by helping moving furniture, supporting on the van and  on the shop floor.
Tommo says he enjoys delivering furniture to people who most need it and connects with the vision of SAWN and sees SAWN as his family.

Gloria McKinley- Shop Eyes

Mama Norma is SAWN Mill security.

She is the watchful eyes that ensures everything is going smoothly.
Gloria stated that ‘I enjoy coming here everyday and I’m always made to feel welcome. I am the Mama of the group!’.

Carlos Moran - Furniture HUB Handy Man

Carlos is the Mill’s Mr. Fix it! Anything that needs sorting out Carlos does it.

Alongside PAT testing. Carlos also helps on the van pickups and deliveries.

Benilda Moran – Furniture HUB Volunteer

Benilda is the Mill’s refurbishing and upcycling lead and ensures that furniture is pristine clean for delivery and welcomes people in the Mill.

Dada Zubeda- SARATI Project facilitator

Dada leads on the peer led women’s meeting that happens every week at the Mill. 

Dada’s strengths are getting women to talk and share their lived experiences and informing SAWN’s learning.
